Kernel Crud Delete Mode For the T140
This time for the GF's lappie, the faithful T410.
Reclaimed 7 freaking amazing GB of HDD space after this.

Winter My Ass
Where the hell is the winter when you need it?
This shit is ridiculous, we are in the dead center of what has to be our winter.

Movies During The Weekend
Two movies during the weekend, besides a few episodes of Ozark as well...
Trainspotting 2
Mighty good and entertaining, much better than what I was expecting.
Even the GF enjoyed this one.
Idiocracy
Oh boy, this was depressing as hell... I might have seen it about a decade ago or so, and maybe not even complete, but this shit is hard as hell.

Behold! PB Is Rising!
Slapped an old 500 GB HDD on the Dell, installed LM 18 XFCE 64 bits, and off it goes with a new life... Hopefully as sort of a media box.
Oh boy, time to configure things from scratch once again...

Movies During The (Past) Weekend
Damn! Forgot to post about our movies during the weekend...
- Dracula Untold
The GF wanted to see this one, I have to stay that I've pretty much slept thru this one.
- Nocturnal Animals
Amazing movie.
I was afraid this might be an artsy boring piece of crap, but it turn out to be quite good and entertaining.

Ozarking
Binge watching the hell out of it.
Started last Saturday with the GF and I simply can't stop.
It has a bit of everything, from The Sopranos to Breaking Bad and I bet even has a small homage to Fringe's secret code at the beginning.

The current Linux Mint desktop
The GTK theme is called Libra Dark Gruvbox.
My old and trusty Apple Cinema Display has the best relation between size (19") and resolution (1680x1050) but tired old eyes.

Linux Chores Are Happy Chores (III)
And so it's done...
Finally, believe or not, my little Linux task/ wish list is history.
First was the W530, then the T430, and the last part, migrating the the Opti's Linux distro to a 64 bits one, which I did during the afternoon, in between server updates.
The Suspended Disk still kicks ass after more than 3 years, as the picture show.

Down & Down & Down

Wonder Chabon
In the end took me nearly 3 months... Damn work, I hate you for keeping me from doing stuff I want to do whenever I want it to!
Anyways, sort of intermediately started the next one: Wonder Boys, but I got in Spanish, so it's more like "Chicos Prodigiosos".
So the movie many years ago, I recall a thing or two but not much.
This is my first Chabon book.

Nose Dive!!!!
After a week with a peak of 24 degrees, we are diving, and fast!
There is even some talk about the possibility of snow around here...
Maybe another July 9th is in the near future?

Movies During The Weekend
Two movies during the weekend, cloudy, rainy and somehow cold weekend... A perfect winter weekend around here.
- Who Will Stop The Rain
A re-watch for me (but I guess I haven't seen this one close to 20 years or so...) and a first time for the GF (she enjoyed it).
We started re-casting the movie about half way of it...
The new cast:
Josh Hartnett == Nick Nolte, Maggie Gyllenhaal == Tuesday Weld, Tom Hiddleston == Michael Moriarty, Bryan Cranston == Anthony Zerbe & Richard Masur == Seth Rogen
Of course the new version will not have viet Nam as the backdrop.
- Manchester by The Sea
Cool one, although, I guess it's something like 15/20 minutes long... I chose to sleep those off.
The GF requested this one, and she loved it.

GenMon That Load & RAM Usage
And yet another genmon little use...
Two small scripts that add the load and RAM usage on the XFCE Panel.
Get Load:
#!/bin/bash
cat /proc/loadavg | awk '{print $1}'

Kernel Crud Delete Mode
Kernel Cleansing Day!
And this time, the X models get to get their sh*t slimmed down.
And BTW, now that I think of, the X220 its the only one left with Cinnamon... Will have to do something about that...

Linux Chores Are Happy Chores (II)
The second task from my looooonng withstanding Linux wish list is done!
Today I've been able, squeezing time from here and there while working, to finally install Linux Mint 18 XFCE (64 bits) onto the T430, yeah! It was running LM 17.3 Cinnamon (64 bits of course) and it was a PITA to use.

Movies During The Weekend
Only one movie during past weekend, kinda busy around here, you know...
- The Fate of The Furious
Still as fictitious (maybe even a bit ridiculous) as all the other ones I've seen, and also somehow funny.

Blinking Block
This is bizarre, but I haven't found the config option on the XFCE Terminal Preferences, so I post it here.
In order to have a blinking cursor block you need to edit the file:
~/.config/xfce4/terminal/terminalrc
And look for the lime:
MiscCursorBlinks
And, of course, set the value to: TRUE
Changes take effect immediately, so the cursor will start blinking right away!
