With the GF away for a couple of days, got to see some crappy 80's movies, without punishing her to watch them...

Don't recall, but I'm pretty sure I haven't seeing this one before.
Really surprised me how good it was, I was expecting an 80's teenage movie, don't ask me why, but I was sure this movie was that, and I got something totally different, sort of a mix of Smokey and The Bandit with a mix Hallmark Movie of The Week and Stripes.

Soul Man:
One of those movies that you are sure you won't be seeing a remake, unless they flip everything somehow.
I've seen this one eons ago, and it aged quite well, really, really funny.
Another one that falls into this you won't be seeing a remake category is "Gotcha", I mean, students running around a campus with guns??

Cruelest Summer of All

This has been the worst day of summer I can recall, not only this summer, but any and all summers I can remember in Buenos Aires.

Into The Thinner Eye Glasses

Last Friday got a new pair of eye glasses.
My beloved daily driver pair is about to give up (Link 1, Link 2, Link 3), and I get a "free" pair a year, so what a hell.
Following the GF's advice, got thin ones, so I can look to far things Ok over the eye glasses, and to near things if I look down... You get the idea.
Took me nothing to adapt to this new pair, rather practical, but, flimsy, I'm afraid.

Chores on a Blazing Afternoon

The GF is out this weekend, so I had a couple of chores to do at home.
That damn plinth was loose I don't remember how long.
That carpenter's glue gets clear once dry.

Cruel Summer

In the end, summer got its revenge, and in the most brutal way.
This was supposed to be a cool and not too torrid summer around here, but, guess what? Fuck you, that's what....
Even tho we did had a couple of amazing days, the dream is over...
And, ot make things even worse, the thing is gonna get really, really fucked up, that is, worse, much worse, right up until next Wednesday or so...
May this mega piece of shit summer end fast!

Movies During The Weekend

Yes! We finally watched a movie (or something!) Summer makes it hard, yadda, yadda... But we finally did watched one, and something that we were waiting for quite sometime to see..


Star Trek Discovery:
The first episode from the second season, here in Argentina, Netflix has the rights to stream it, no need to get CBS All Acess, on of the few nice things about the Third World :p
It was a cool one, tho it gets a bit repetitive when it comes to the blurry and infant Spock, yes, we get it, he is and will be important on this season...
Nice to see that, as all the other early reviews noted, this Discovery got back on track to what TOS had to offer.

Lets just say that it is sort of an effing boring stuff to glue all of them together...

Pressing the damn wooden strips, so they get glued on a straight, orderly fashion.

Saturday Night Asado

Saturday night with a truly magnificent bife de chorizo, along with some carrots and a potato.
Also pictured, my trusty 35 years old Ibberson pocket knife, who'll became the official knife of all my upcoming asados.

Wipers Preventing Slides

Another one of the multiple uses for old wipers... My favorite laptop base lost the anti-slider rubber strips that used to go underneath.

A little bit of crazy glue, and bit of the old wiper, and presto.

(No) Movies During The Weekend

The GF and I are not watching anything lately... Too much bicycle rides with Blue Thunder, asados, and when we do have some free time, we sleep like bears...
We managed to see a documentary a couple of Sundays ago, tho.

Apollo's Daring Mission:
Really cool one, as usual, if its Nova, it is wonderful.
It has a bit of everything, compacted onto the doc, but really well made.
This is a topic that is certainly a favorite of mine (Link 1, Link 2 & Link 3)

The other thing I'm watching obsessively is Adam Savage's Tested, I'm Youtube watching on the Roku every day till who knows what hour... It is an amazing show, and, of course, I was huge fan of Myth Busters as well.

Sunday Night Pasta

The return of the ricotta raviolis! Yes, the classic ones, they are a few remaining bloxes that we fridge before, the GF will continue with her new variant, the vegetables and chicken ones.
This time, the raviolis weren't drowned with grilled cheese, but the other toppings are there: the might GF stew and boiled carrots.

A little something, just an experiment at the moment, with small wooden pieces.
Will see how this goes...

Saturday Night Asado

Ultra effing mighty amazing pork ribs with BBQ, carrots and apple, all asado made, the ribs took a little more than two hours, but they were amazing.
The GF had the idea to make some apples, they were marvelous.

Project X Full Blast Ahead

After a hiatus, you know, Christmas and New Years... Things are finally looking good for Project X, maybe next week I might have something up.

Sunday Night Pasta

A new era has just begun.
The GF started a new diet, or rather, a new control, so, the classic ricotta ravioli is gone... From now on, they'll be vegetables and chicken raviolis! We have a small stock of ricotta ones, but those will be burned on the following weeks.

Replaced one on the lappie today, it was dry as a desert, and smearing everything it touched, the GF complained all the time that it was effing up here white table.
Got the "new one" from the old -totally depleted- battery.

First Asado of The Year

Saturday night marked the date of your first asado of 2019!
Featuring amazing home made burgers (yes, the same batch than the previous and delicious runs).
Of course, the burgers were lovingly made by the GF, with strips of crispy bacon, carrots and some anco.

Masters of Reading

Been reading this one since last September!
Didn't have a lot of free time until a couple of weeks ago, and also, it is such a fact filled book that sometimes takes a while to wade thru.
But, damn if this isn't the best book I've read in quite some time... I'm about 32% right and I simply love it.

Our little tangerines are getting bigger by the minute (almost).
Guess there is a new house for them in the near future, the original pot might be a bit too crowded pretty soon.
