Stupid crap that drives nut...
- Firefox favicons
But the developer got pissed off with Firefox and removed that extension.
- Date column on Evolution
The Date column on Evolution is HUGE! It steals a huge amount of screen real estate just because, and AFAIK, there is no way of setting this on a global way, you have to change the width on every single directory you have.

Lazy Sunday Afternoon
I still don't know why there is a difference between the available packages to update if you do a:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Than if you use Linux Mint's Update Manager...

Lots And Lots of Work
This last quarter is booming with a lot of freakin' work...
"In The Future Computers Will Set You Free", yes... Unless you work maintaining those computers, in which case you'll work like a MOFO.

115K and counting!
Yes, I know the rate is somehow slowing, but I have a lot of offsite work, and really not much time for music these days.

Linux Mint 18 on the Thinkpad X140e
So, today swapped SSD and installed LM 18 XFCE onto the little lappie.
The WiFi card isn't recognized upon installation, you have to either use Ethernet or, lucky me, a USB external one, that got recognized without an issue.
After making the actual install, and, just to be safe, installing the whole batch of the first updates, go to System > Driver Manager and enable the built in WiFi card, reboot, and presto, all is golden.

Lubuntu Minimal Installation
Pulled out the SSD from the T60p, loaded a plain vanilla SATA, and then the real fun started!
Choose the "Lubuntu Minimal Install" on the menu, and, after installing 697 files, a plain desktop showed itself...
A damn ugly one, sporting the Debian logo nonetheless...
I won't stay much on the LXDE land...

The Illustrated Mirror
I've seeing the first season's episode one a couple of years ago and I wasn't that impressed, but being able to watch all the episodes at once helped me a lot to appreciate the show.
It reminds me a lot of what a modern mix of "The Twilight Zone" and "The Illustrated Man" might be.
"San Junipero" episode is the best 80's nostalgia movie I've seen in a while.

Buried By Work
No joy, not at all...
I wanted to test a lot of distros, but no luck this week...
Besides, I want to migrate must of the Linux distros I have installed on the Thinkpads T60 & T60p, but, again, no time this week...
Maybe next week?

Movies During The Weekend
- Star Trek Beyond
Entertaining, by far, the best, at least IMHO, was the Enterprise's arrival to Yorktown, and of course, the whole Yorktown itself.
Even tho she is no trekkie, not even close, the GF liked it.

Got Temperature?
Another one liner to get the temperature... This one specifically from a Bs. As. source, the text only version of La NaciĆ³n Online newsparer.
temp()
{
wget -q -O- http://servicios.lanacion.com.ar/solo-texto | egrep --color=never Temperatura
echo -e
}
The parsing is way simpler than the one used on the script I linked above, but the site seems to be a little a bit slower responding...
Anyway, plain and simple... It just works.
