(No) Movies During The Weekend

Well... Yeah... No movies during last weekend, weather was good (really not too hot yet) so the GF and I took long walks both Saturday and Sunday.
For what I can see here on Oesediez, this no movie weekends ususaly happened during summer time here in dear ole Bs. As.

Un-encrypt Your $HOME

This is how I move my $HOME from encrypted to un-encrypted,  in order to be able to keep using Dropbox... Yes, in the end, choose to keep it.
Done this on all of my Linux Mint boxes that had an encrypted $HOME (still running an encrypted LVM, tho).

- Login as your regular user thru GUI.
- Disable Dropbox autostart.
- Logout.
- Drop to a TTY, login as the root user .
- Issue: umount /home/$USER
- Edit the text file "/home/.ecryptfs/$USER/.ecryptfs/Private.mnt".
Change "/home/$USER" to "/home/$USER/Private"
- Issue:

mkdir /home/$USER/Private
chown $USER:$USER /home/$USER/Private
chmod 0700 /home/$USER/

- Reboot
- Login regular user (TTY), issue:

  shopt -s dotglob
  mv Private/* .

Be sure there is enough free space on the disk.
I have run out of space on a couple of boxes, no sweat, simply delete the partial one, and then move once again.

- Login thru GUI and start Dropbox, it'll force a re-connect thru the webfront once again and then sync everything, but not a download.

Saturday Night Chicken

A free form creation of the GF, "Chinese Chicken with BBQ Sausage", as she calls her invention.
Might delicious, with baked oven potatoes, sliced to look like if they were fried.
Damn that shit was magnificent!
The chicken sort of melted on your mouth.

Things are still going strong with the tangerines, and also, this time, we have two new ones... Who could have thought that this piece of shit earth might actually work?

Project X Is Rising!

Last Saturday was the official launch of my mighty Project X.
Not sure how much time I'll have, but the idea is to get this going at full steam during the summer months of January and February.

Narcos Mexico

Finished the first season (or is it really the fourth?) a couple of days ago, wolfed down the whole thing in less than a week.
I was a little skeptical, not sure it might be as good as the previous ones, but, oh boy, it was really, really good.

Saturday Night Pasta

Slowly but steady our Sunday Pasta night mutated onto Saturday night... What can I say?
The quality is the same, the GF stew is there all that changes is the day, so no biggie for me, right?
Mighty good ricotta raviolis with the aforementioned GF stew and some broiled carrots on the bottom.

Movies During The Weekend

Only one movie, and a real piece of shit too, during the weekend.
It was a lovely weekend around here, not too hot, sunny and windy, and also, a 3 day weekend, because of a holiday.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout:
Boy, what a fucking bummer! Long as hell, over talked at moments and predictable.
For a minute, we thought that they might have some resemblance of pride, and the whole team would die at the end... But they don't, which means the franchise will go on.

Ghetto Riser/ Ghetto Cooler

Added a couple of bottle caps to the bottom of the lappie, in order to have better cooling, they are sot of stuck there with a bit of play-do, yeap, as ghetto as it can be, it works.

Guess what? Yeah! Another thousand up... Getting close to hit last year's mark, about 5 thousand to go to get to the 51 thousand scrobbles during this year.

Still going strong, yes... But also, we have a new little one!
So, so far we have 4 small tangerines going.

Movies During The Weekend

We watched two movies during last weekend, mighty, mighty great and entertaining movies both of them.

Mile 22:
What can I say? The GF and I love Peter Berg's movies, so far he didn't left us down on anything we saw of him.
This one is really, fast paced as hell, but, maybe, maybe, it has a bit of an obvious end, but, how cares, right?

Mandy:
We both abso -fucking- lutely loved this movie.
Entertaining, funny, spooky, with lots and lots and lots of 80's references, and the best Cage performance I've seen in ages.

Re-enforcing The Back-plate of The Dell XPS M1330

The keyboard on this lappie was a bit flaky, more like with flexing, with a lot of flexing... Specially around the upper left area, really annoying when you hit the Esc key.
So, what I did to add a little bit if stiff was pop it open and add a couple of threads of a somehow thick tape I had around.
The thing added a less than a milliliter thickness (or more like firmness) but it helped a lot.

Sunday Night Milangas

Crispy, mighty good milanesas on a Sunday Night.
As usual, with oven cooked potatoes and sweet potatoes.
Damn me if those weren't good.

Gazillion of Updates on Stable

Loads of updates yesterday... First time I see that many updates on one shot on Stable.
Of course, no problem whatsoever after installing everything and rebooting, so far installed these on the XPS M1330 (pictured) as well as the Optiplex 755.

Saturday Night Pasta

The soil on the pot is a piece of crap, but it seems like somehow it is still good enough for them.

Movies During The Weekend

A relaxed weekend, with lots and lots of sunshine and also our anniversary, we got to the four year mark with the GF.

The Meg:
This one was picked by the GF, and she loved it.
I've slept a minute or two during this one, not my cup of tea.

BlacKkKlansman:
Cool one, yes, the old Spike that we all know, and who can't control himself.
Personally, I prefer "Do The Right Thing".
The GF slept this one out.

Sunday Night Pasta

Well, things are back to normal.
That is, pasta on a Sunday night.
Saturday we dined out with the GF (it was an anniversary) but Sunday, oh boy, Sunday, it was back to pasta time!
As usual, with boiled carrots and the magnificent GF stew.

Upgrading the Little Monster

Maxxed the RAM on the Acer...
To a whooping 2 GB!!!
It was running on a meager 1.5 GB/

Monday Hardware Swapping

Time to scrap RAM from whatever and then bump that onto the Dell M1330.
But, even after the bump, the little lappie still feels slow and drags to do most ot the stuff it is asked to do.

The Little Lappie That Delivers

Unbelievable but the Acer is still alive, after all this torrents and all the music streaming... Endlessly churning away...
The poor little thing has survived some pretty rough summers (specially since its HDD gets insanely, out of this world hot...)
Here is to the bugger, and hoping a lot of TBs more.

Wow, the folks at Google did a major change with their Dock.
Pretty, pretty good.
I just hope Chrome OS would allow you to configure mouse cursor icons...

Movies During The Weekend

A relaxed weekend around here, not too many movies, since weather was really good.

The Man Who Would Be King:
What a mighty movie to re-watch! Even after all this years, this one is truly fantastic!

Juliet, Naked:
Read this one seven years ago (God Damn!) and I remember enjoying it a lot.
The movie is quite good, Ethan Hawke goes well, but, IIRC, his son on the book was fairly capital.
The GF slept this one thru, but watched it later, and loved the chick-flick coolness of it.

A Cool Break

But, didn't last long.
Next week is going to be hell around here.
