No Wikipedia For You!
That's a first one for me, haven't seen that error message before.
Maybe it's because of what I was searching.

When the PlayCount's over
(Turn off the lights & start from zero again...)
Today moved my aging iPod (IIRC it is the so called "First Generation Video", that is over 5 years old!!) to the Linux side of thing for good.
In order to do that I had to format it as FAT 32, so... Good bye Play Count... I've reached the 36 plays on every song (at last) and it is time to move on, besides, moving to Rhythmbox, and therefore forcing a clean slate start, is helping me re-tagging a lot of songs, as well as discovering some new tunes.
There are still a few things to iron out, specially regarding the transfer of the Play Count from the iPod to Rhythmbox but I guess I'll find a way to fix that sooner or later.
Besides, found a new obsession with this whole play count thing and its Last.fm

The current Ubuntu desktop
Haven't posted one of these in a while so here it goes.
The now classic Lucid desktop, with a slightly darker Gnome Panels, a long time favorite of mine.

Moving to Rhythmbox
Been pretty busy lately and without any real desire to dig out what the hell its going on with Thor, and since I used use that box for iTunes listening, been listening to my music collection with Lucid Lynx's default player, Rhythmbox for the last week or so.
Basically I'm listening to all my music files practically from scratch, re-tagging, sorting out, there are a lot of files that either I or iTunes had left aside, and that I'm actually listening for the first time.
Compared to iTunes, Rhythmbox seems less polished, but nothing to write home about it, everything you need, or at least, I need, its there and it works.

Sojourner hard crash
Yesterday got Sojourner's (as a Thinkpad T60) first crash.
It was a mighty one, total freeze, no input at all, not thru Thinkpad's nipple, external USB mouse, keyboard nor trackpad.
Impossible to kill X Window, nor switching to a virtual console...
A hard reboot brought the lappie up once again with no apparent side effect.
Skimmed thru the logs, but found nothing at all.

Movies over the weekend
Captain America
Exactly what you expect. It gives you no more than what it promises...
The worst, IMHO, its the way that every single blockbuster movie nowadays simply paves the way for the next release, the second part, whatever... Without any sense of humility, just a formality... "The thing you just watched? You know, it continues".
Fanboys
Amazing movie, I loved it...Had to ripp it.
Hilarious, amazing, the Star Wars fan movie that you waited a life to see.

Apple-less
Well, Thor, the mighty Quicksilver PowerMac, refused to boot today... So, I'm out of Apple boxes at the moment...
Guess I'll have to go thru the whole PMU, SMC, & PRAM thing but I can't today.
Besides, the box its, to put it simply, a sound & heat monster generator; I was only using it for iTunes and iPod; but testes using the iPod with Linux and it wasn't much of a problem...
