The summer of pings

Lately being rather lazy, not much to do about work, the holidays are an effing blessing, and we didn't have any emergency so far, once again, we are living another period of non hostility and I still can hear the pings reply.

The weather, ITOH, has been a bitch, luckily, come Monday night, I'm off on vacation.
The summer, the real one, the one on the calendar, has started 6 days ago, and everything points toward a fucking beast of a summer.

Luckily, its over, at least for the moment.
Since last Thursday I have been living at home once again, and everything its pretty much the same, except newer & nicer; the main difference: the floor, it looks like they have pulled the sh*t out of the old one and toss it to Hell, I like the new one :D

Have VLC Christmas!!!

Last night I was watching a video on Tango, when I noticed a little Santa hat on the VLC icon.

It seems like there is an "Christmas Easter Egg" (if such thing exist...) or a little inside joke from the programers, or the Google trend for customizing stuff according to the date it is reaching new ground.

Haven't seeing that one on the VLC for Os X I'm running, maybe its a bit outdated...

These last few days -my own "living out of a suit period"- I have been using Thor a lot.
So today I have installed a few updates I was owning my baby.

Everything seems A Ok, even all my favorite Safari haxies (link 1 link 2) are still working perfectly.

And of course, the all time, all around favorite haxie of mine, Nuclear Mouse, is working like a champ.

To aMSN or not

Pidgin drove me nuts, it was/ is the only thing, at least, so far, that wasn't working Ok on my Intrepid install.
Random, and frequent crashes, weird, I guess, because I only use it with one protocol, MSN, and I don't have a bazillion of contacts, nevertheless, it crashed like a SOB, many times a day sometimes.

So, installed aMSN on Tango... First thing off, I hate it, it is made to look exactly like Messenger, so, everything is huge and effing annoying.
Besides, unless there is a good reason, I simply hate installing another app that has the same function as another one already installed on my boxes, I like to keep everything nice and clean, yes.

Nothing much around here, still living out of a suitcase... At least, the floor is done, now the paint begins, with a bit of a luck, the 23rd I'll be living in my place once again.

The worst of the whole thing is that the temperature will creep up like a bastard this week, the best of all of this (besides getting my place the way it has to be) is that the holidays are getting closer & closer.

Living out of a suitcase

Not much posting lately.
Being really busy and with a lot of work, and on top of that, doing some remodeling work at home, something that I have pushed as back as I can thru-out the whole year.

The only good thing is that the temperature dropped like hell since Sunday.

Dark themes ins & out

Its back to a dark theme time for me, baby.

But this time, using the hot icon set of the moment, Eikon, a package of really nice looking icons that go hand in hand with dark colored themes, they have sort of a Leopardish touch, but just a hint.

This weather icon is terrific looking, specially for the current conditions.





One thing I have noticed, using Dark themes, specially DarkRoom, is that the default skin/ theme of VLC looks particularly dull, specially the control buttons.
