My Current Setup

This is how I'm rolling thru the CV19.
The old and beaten T410 has replaced the Optiplex 755 for the last couple of weeks.
As I have the need, the need for speed :p
The Opti was slow as a dog or at least it felt that way.

The Current Linux Mint Desktop

Yeap... Another month, still on quarantine.
Haven't seeing the GF since March 16th, but, luckily we are all Ok.
Not in the mood to post much, but I'll try to.

Another thousand up, as usual, I've been listening to a lot of music lately.

Back to Mint, Back to Life

Yesterday and part of today was devoted to migrate to Linux Mint two lappies that were sporting Debian Stretch.
Not really a problem with Stretch, in fact, it was really cool and light, but since I needed to re-install on those two, decided to go ahead and install a release that will get updates up until 2023, instead of Stretch's 2020.

Re-enforcing The Back-plate of The T410

And now it is time to do the same to the T410 keyboard... Please don't tell Lenovo!

The Current LightDM Configuration

The custom Lightdm login window on my Debian Stretch lappie, the mighty T410.

All the magic is been done on the file:

/etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf

Here is the configuration script:

[greeter]
indicators=~clock;~spacer;~power;
transition-type=none
background=#747C87
default-user-image=/home/XXXXXXXXXXXXX/Pictures/Login-Pics/greedo.jpg
theme-name=Minwaita
icon-theme-name=Papirus-GTK
panel-position=bottom
font-name=ubuntu
xft-antialias=true
xft-dpi=91
xft-hintstyle=slight
xft-rgba=vrgb
show-clock= true
clock-format=%F %H:%M
show-language-selector=false

Livin' La Vida Debian

Happy as hell with Debian, simple as that.
Daily driving with the T410 -on its second incarnation- and running Debian, of course- is nothing but joy.
Really, but I mean, really tempted to migrate all of my lappies to Debian.

The Current Debian Desktop

Another one from my current daily driver Debian lappie.
This one playing a bit with tiling windows, using stiler, which works sort of Okish.
The theme is Adwaita-Slim-Dark, and the icons are Papirus Dark.

The Current Debian Desktop

The first Debian screenshot around here, at least on while.
I really love this setup, I mean Debian on the T410, smooth as silk the whole thing.
This is using a custom made GTK2 theme I've been playing around a bit, Xfce-Grey.
Naked picture of the desktop.

Cleanliness Is Close To Thinkpadness

A quick cleaning of the innards of the T410.
It wasn't that dirty, but re-tightening all the screws did wonders.

Debian Stretch on the Thinkpad T410

A little screenshot of the fresh Debian setup on the T410, or the XFCE desktop, actually.
Nothing new, the standard comfy & usable ole XFCE.

The install went really smooth, only thing I had to setup// install after the actual installation was the non-free drivers for the WiFi card (iwlwifi).
As usual, an encrypted LVM, with a whole partition for / (to save disk space).
As for packages, also went for the usual.
Of course XFCE, SSH Server & the mandatory "Standard System Utility".
IIRC, it somethig less than 2 GB of HDD space when finished.
The screenshot on the left shows stuff as it is with all the necessary packages installed to call this setup home, that is, on top of the base XFCE install:

I obviously have to fix that icon volume on the Panel ultra ASAP... It reminds me of the whole Wicd icon thing a couple of weeks ago.
