Ubuntu 8.10 on the Compaq F700 (2)
Installed last night, the install, as usual, without any problems, it took hours to get all the files form the external Seagate on place again, but, in the end, everything seems fine.
The video card works perfectly, with the proprietary drivers, blah, blah. I'm not using that many Compiz effects this time, at least, for now.
This is what I have installed after the basic install:
Console:
emacs22-nox
openssh-server
build-essential
ssmtp
curl
GUI:
vlc
ubuntu-restricted-extras
flashplugin-nonfree libflashsupport
computertemp
compizconfig-settings-manager
emerald
Noticed that on this release, Ubuntu does install the NVIDIA settings utility, not like on 8.04, where you had to install that separately.
