Second hard crash on Sojourner

This time everything seems to point towards the X Window server.
Out of blue the whole screen started to "scroll down" ad infinitum, that's the best way to describe it, I guess.
Keyboard was operational, I could logout of the Gnome session, and switch to a Virtual Console, but that did no good at all...
Rebooted via Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
