Not that I was desperate to use it, will see how it goes...<br /><br />What you know... start from zero again...)<br /><br />Today moved my aging iPod (IIRC it is the so called "First Generation Video", that is over 5 years old!!) to the Linux side of thing for good.<br /><br />In order to do that I had to format it as FAT 32, so... Good bye Play Count... three day weekend has come and gone, mostly rainy, somehow cools days.<br />Ideal weather to do some catchup with some forgotten series, and to re-watch what I consider a classic.<br />The series was "<span style="font-weight:bold;">The Office</span>", been watching the first three seasons, I've just a few episodes here are and there, mostly while visiting the US.<br />I like the series, found out that it is a little more than Carell's vehicle to stardom.<br />The movie I saw was "<span style="font-weight:bold;">Light Sleeper</span>", which I haven't seeing in quite a while.<br />I am a big Schrader fan -particularly of his "<span style="font-weight:bold;">Mishima</span>"- so it is alway a pleasure to see any of his films once again.<br />On this one in particular I don't like the end, damn <a href="http://oesediez.blogspot.com/2011/09/t60-wobbly-external-monitor-w-lucid.html">problem with the external display on Sojourner</a> (my Thinkpad T60 beauty) is simply killing me.<br />Earlier this week I had a bussines meeting with a little demo, and I had to take my trusty but really beated T43 to be able to connect it to a projector.<br /><br />So, Saturday afternoon pulled the HDD from Sojourner and placed a 320 GB drive I was using on <a href="http://oesediez.blogspot.com/search/label/MBP%2013">my late MBP 13"</a> to make Time Machine backups.<br /><br />Snapped the drive onto the T60 and installed a fresh Lucid Lynx (32 bits) on it, made the install from a USB key and the whole thing simply flew.<br />After the install was completed, and with all the updates on and a reboot later, plugged in an external monitor to see if the damn "waves" went away with a clean slate.<br /><br />The MF were still there.<br /><br />Anyway, this whole thing served a purpose, found out that the waves only happen when the T60 is either mirroring, or extending the desktop to the external monitor; if I chose to simply turn off the laptop's LCD and use only the external one, things go A Ok (at least with the Samsung monitor I have at hand).<br /><br />Fair enough for me; later this week will test it with a projector from work to see how it goes.<div href="http://oesediez.blogspot.com/2010/10/windows-7-on-sony-vaio-pcg-frv37.html">ancient Sony Vaio</a>.<br /><br />I'm not a gamer by any standard, but the Acer 128 MB ATI card seems to be delivering quite a nice job handling Aero, also, of course, the Acer has 2 GB of RAM an ocean of memory compared to what the Sony has.<br />The Acer's screen, even tho only 1280x800 in resolution, does a pretty USB installer I got <a href="http://oesediez.blogspot.com/2010/10/windows-7-on-sony-vaio-pcg-frv37.html">from who knows where</a>...<br /><br />The laptop boots just fine from the USB key, I'm using a 4 GB one, but after starting the install it throw an error message that it requires a driver, Googled that error message a bit and the link below probed to be invaluable...<br /><ul><li><a install</a></li></ul><br />Specifically the reply posted by "Cherizli".<br /><br />On my case, I had to do exactly that...
